About

DEERFOS started in 1963 as Korea Abrasives and began producing paper and cloth abrasives the following year, later adding fiber discs (1969) and wide belts (1975). The company adopted the DEERFOS name in 2006 and is recognised in Korea as a mid-sized enterprise.

Production runs at factories in Incheon and Jincheon, with a company R&D institute and a finished-goods R&D center. The catalogue spans paper, film, net, cloth and fiber-backed abrasive grades in aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, zirconia and ceramic grain, converted into discs, sheets, rolls and belts, plus a line of bonded cut-off and grinding wheels.

The company reports around 213 employees, exports to more than 100 countries, and runs overseas branches including Indonesia, China, Europe (Poland), India, Mexico, Colombia and Brazil.

Paper-Backed Coated Abrasives

Coated abrasives built on paper backings from light A-weight up to heavy G-weight, in aluminum oxide and silicon carbide grain. The range covers dry and wet sanding grades for paint and body repair, woodworking, furniture finishing and wide-belt panel sanding. Stearate-coated and open-coat grades reduce loading on paint and lacquer.

Film, Net and Foam-Backed Abrasives

Premium abrasives on polyester film, open mesh net and film-plus-sponge backings. Film backings give a uniform scratch pattern and long life on hook-and-loop discs, while the net product extracts dust through the whole surface and the soft foam product conforms to curved panels. Micro-finishing film discs reach P3000 for paint defect removal.

Cloth-Backed Abrasives (Belts, Rolls and Flap Material)

Cloth-backed abrasive grades for narrow, wide and mini belts, rolls and flap discs or flap wheels. Grain choices run from aluminum oxide and silicon carbide through zirconia, compact (structured) grain and the BORA ceramic family for heavy stock removal on stainless and alloy steels. Backings range from flexible J-weight cotton to heavy YY-weight polyester for high-pressure grinding.

Fiber-Backed Abrasives (Fiber Discs)

Abrasive grades on vulcanized fiber backing for resin fiber discs used on angle grinders. Aluminum oxide, silicon carbide, zirconia and ceramic (BORA9) grain cover everything from general steel to aluminium and weld blending.

BLUE Cut-Off and Grinding Wheels

Resin-bonded cut-off and depressed-center grinding wheels sold under the BLUE line. Thin 4" and 5" cut-off wheels suit angle grinders, 14" and 16" wheels suit chop saws, and the grinding wheels come in regular (A) and white (WA) aluminum oxide.
