About

Kwangwoo is an Anyang-based maker of optical and magnetic rotary encoders and industrial light sources, founded in November 1992. It describes its mission as localising encoder and light-source products that were previously imported, and holds a leading position in encoders for machine tools.

The encoder range includes shaft and hollow-shaft incremental encoders from 30 to 100 mm diameter, sine-wave encoders with absolute commutation tracks for gearless elevator machines, a compact magnetic encoder and manual pulse generators for CNC machines. A vehicle motion sensor is supplied for military vehicles.

For machine vision and inspection it produces halogen and full-colour LED light sources, fibre light guides and an axis/tool number display for machine tools.
